I don't like Bucket .. great acting?

56:42

That was disgusting.

A truly moving and necessary scene.

Bucket's ability to transcend her Blackness to present as a white woman physically, then knowingly harness its power to inflict pain on a Black body.

Poignant that Citsy asked her - "why would you..." Yes, make Bucket say it, to spell it out...

Also drove Bayou's point home that she "sure does act like it" (52:46)

Was not surprised in the slightest that Bucket's mama would lie to protect herself.

I'm writing this halfway, so I'm interested to see if time jumps now that Bayou is out of town on account of running from the town's KKK

+ Interesting that they weren't dressed up in their white cloak costumes, rather Perry left them plain-clothed in the back of a pick-up truck, led by the sheriff - true reality (1:11:07)

Bayou is on the side of the road throwing up when his white music manager starts speaking on being a jew in nazi germany - watching his wife and children be murdered, the cattle cars... "sometimes you have to go on, so you can come back to help" (1:15:48) .. interesting choice that this relationship is being presented (...kanye)

(1:51:12) I would have never thought .. imagined .. and yet, it's so obvious. Why wouldn't he? What's left? Strange fruit

In Reflection..

My heart jumps when I'm too far in it. When Bayou's face contorts to theirs.. his smile yours ..m his limp body yours .. the helplessness, mine. movie scene=, yes. but how different? how different than my fear when we're rearended, jumps my mind to your limp body lit with accusatory police lights..memories intertwined. moments paralleled. airplanes to the moon.

if the birds stop singing, the rain stops falling, the sun wont shine on you .. even then,

The promo picture says "Never Stop Loving" and contrary to my sentiments above .. I do think Bayou should of stopped and moved on once he realized the life path she chose, I agree with his Mama .. Leann was way too self-centered to take care enough to protect
